BABYWEARING 101
This class is ideal for expectant families, and families with newborns who are interested in learning about babywearing in a small group setting. Explore all the different carrier options from Milk in Motion’s CBWS Certified Babywearing Educator (CBE) to help pick the right one(s) for your lifestyle.
Weighted dolls and multiple types of carriers will be provided so you can practice and try carriers with the help of a certified educator close by.
Discover how a properly-fitting carrier makes it easier to soothe a cranky or tired child, to get outside more often, and to maneuver in tight spaces - think metro, stairways, and crowded stores, all while being hands free! In this 2.5-hour class you will learn:
The many benefits of babywearing for all families
The pros and cons of some of the most popular carrier types
Tips and tricks to wear baby safely and comfortably
and More!
Class participants will follow along to your CBE’s instruction and demonstrations with only brief individual corrections and adjustments as needed due to the group setting. Please note that if you are seeking more individualized support with one or two types of carriers, we recommend you schedule a private baby wearing consult.

cLASSES FOR BIRTHWORKERS
Build your babywearing skills and confidence and update your knowledge on current products, research and safety guidelines. Doulas, IBCLCs, childbirth educators, nurses, midwives, infant care specialists, breast/bodyfeeding counselors, and all others who work with perinatal families are invited. If you are in the business of providing accurate, evidence-based information and find yourself fielding your client’s babywearing questions, you‘ll love this workshop!
This workshop covers:
Babywearing as a tool to promote bonding, lessen the impact of mood and anxiety disorders, and increase breastfeeding success.
Safety for newborns. Learn how to recognize safe positioning in any carrier. Use evidence-based research to advise your clients appropriately and accurately.
We will review some of the most popular carrier styles your clients are using and practice using them safely. So you can use them while with your clients and also show them the basics of wearing safely themselves.
